How the numbers on this site are made
Every price and rebate figure links to where it came from and shows the date we last checked it.
Last checked
We do not invent figures. Rebate amounts come from the government program's own pages wherever they publish one. Where a program leaves the amount to retailers or installers, we say so and show the range installers report, labelled as theirs.
Where the figures come from
- Rebates: the state program's official page first. If that page publishes no dollar amount, we quote a named industry source and say that is what we are doing.
- Prices: published 2026 price guides from Australian plumbing and hot water businesses. We state whether a range is supply-only or installed, because the two differ by hundreds of dollars.
- Rules: the relevant Australian Standard or state tenancy law, summarised in plain English with a link to a fuller explanation.
How we keep them current
Every figure carries an expiry date. Before each update we run a check that lists anything past that date, and we re-verify it at the source before it stays on the site. Rebate programs change on published schedules, so this matters more than anything else we do.
What this site is not
We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with Solar Victoria, Victorian Energy Upgrades, the NSW Energy Savings Scheme, REPS or any Queensland program. Nothing here is financial, legal or plumbing advice. Eligibility for any rebate is decided by the program, not by us.
How the site is paid for
When you ask for quotes, we may pass your request to licensed plumbers, and they may pay us for that introduction. That never changes the price or rebate figures we publish.
