Queensland's Climate Smart Energy Savers rebate is closed↗. It covered purchases and installations up to 4 December 2023↗, so a heat pump bought today does not qualify.
What the rebate used to pay
The program gave $300–$1,000↗ cash back on energy-efficient appliances, including hot water systems. If you see those amounts quoted as current, the page is out of date.
What still lowers the price
The federal Small-scale Technology Certificate discount still applies to eligible heat pump and solar systems. Your installer's quoted price already includes the federal STC discount↗, so it is not something you claim separately.
Before you accept a quote
- Ask the installer to confirm the STC discount is shown on the quote.
- Be cautious of any quote that takes off a Queensland state rebate.
- Compare at least two quotes from licensed plumbers.
